The Healing Garden
The Healing Garden is a place of prayer intended to foster healing between victims and offenders in society. It is located at St. Augustine Church in Philadelphia, PA (on 4th St, right next to the Ben Franklin Bridge), a parish with a long history of offering hope and reconciliation in times of intolerance.
The garden features a fountain, flowers, shrubs, a brick sidewalk that serve as memorials for loved ones, and a bell that was used at St. Augustine Church from the time right after the civil war.
In late Summer or early Fall 2016, the parish will dedicate a shrine to the Mary, Mother of Captives that will include a small brick shelter for the original icon.
Consider stopping by to pray for peace or to remember a loved one impacted by crime.
